At Day’s End

This was the last shot I took one evening chasing clouds. Over the course of a few hours, the sky turned from fluffy cumulus to nasty, beautiful, black storm clouds and back to white cumulus before dark.

With a changing sky like this, it was all about position. One minute, you have the shot in the west sky and literally one minute later, the shot was in the east.

Drive – literally and figuratively. I put a few miles on the Jeep that night covering a network of landscapes that I would hit based on the sky, determined to position myself for the best shots.

Patience – By the end of the night, I was in this field, catching the sunset. It’s amazing how long it takes for the color to really pop after the sun actually sets.

Drive & Patience – another life lesson learned through a viewfinder.
